Awareness
Each year on the last Friday of September, the cancer cachexia community comes together to raise awareness of a serious but often overlooked condition.
The first Cancer Cachexia Awareness Day was held on September 26, 2025, organized by the Cancer Cachexia Society. The 2nd annual day will be observed on Friday, September 25, 2026. CCN is proud to support and amplify the day — helping patients, families, and care teams recognize the signs of cachexia and start the conversation earlier.
Watch for unintentional weight loss, loss of appetite, persistent fatigue, loss of muscle or frailty, and low mood. If you or someone you love is living with cancer and experiencing these symptoms, talk to your doctor about cachexia.
